“There are just a few remaining slices of life that can bring warmth to any day, that can inspire any one to want to rise at dawn, rather than sleep in, even when taking a break, that can make one forget about the cares of the the world and just get lost in pure high quality relaxation that excites, invigorates and rejuvenates, Flamingo and Turtle Point on Bequia, is one of those remaining places”.
Noel Lynch
Former Tourism Minister of Barbados
"I write the following reluctantly because I have found a jewel in the caribbean crown and would like to keep this little gem all to myself.
It is, however, so beautiful that it gives me a conscience not to share it with like minded travellers. Bequia is for me a real haven from the hustle and bustle of other larger islands in the caribbean.
Nestling in the heart of the beautiful Grenadines this island is where the stresses of day to day living just vanish and you discover what is really important in life. I am fortunate to have a dear friend Nina who owns two properties right on Princess Margaret's Beach. Both properties are beautiful but we always seem to stay in Flamingo with its vibrant colours of lime green, burnt orange and electric blue - you never for one moment forget that you are in the caribbean. From the instant you arrive you feel at home. The finest rum punch is placed in your hand and, if its the season, an enormous lobster is placed in front of you, beautifully cooked by Afrikan, Nina's dear friend, and hopefully my friend too.
The view from the properties is spectacular with the tree covered hills dipping down to the azure blue water where the yachts are anchored after a day sailing around this idyllic part of the world.
Our day starts early in Bequia, probably around 7am, (very unusual for me on holiday!!) and I join the others for our daily walk. The hardest part by far is getting up the road from Flamingo - first time I did it I needed gas and air when I reached the main road!!!!! Once on the road you have many choices as to which route you plan to take and each one is wonderful. The colour of the plants takes your breath away and the higher you go the better the view. We walk for about 2 hours knowing our reward is a large slice of homemade cake and a wonderful cappuccino from the Gingerbread cafe sitting at the waters edge under the canopy of a magnificent tree - what a way to start the perfect day!!
The day passes at a lovely slow pace, starting on the beach and finishing the day by the pool watching the sun go down and hopefully seeing the "green flash" (depending how many rum punches have been consumed!!).
There are some delightful restaurants in Bequia serving excellent food and its bliss not having to dress up - the word "casual" was born in Bequia !!
I have been very fortunate in my life to have had the opportunity to stay at many stunningly beautiful hotels all around the world but Bequia will always hold a very special part in my heart and its a destination I want to return to again and again and again and................"

" I recently spent a wonderful week in Bequia * a beautiful 7 sq mi
island in the Grenadines. What a week!!! Spectacular vistas, delicious
fresh food (especially fish), stunning beaches and very friendly affable
people were only topped by the accommodations.
We stayed at Turtle Point, one of the two villas of Bequia Villas
perched right on Princess Margaret beach. We shared this 4-bedroom
impeccably kept villa with 3 other couples. Upon entering the villa we
saw all amenities were available to us with a modern kitchen, an island
with bar stools as well as spacious living and dining areas. The
bedrooms were all spectacular with ensuite bathrooms and verandahs
providing impressive views of the beautiful white sand bay. The décor
was vibrantly Caribbean with walls of cobalt blue, chartreuse green with
accents of orange and goldenrod. The furnishings are distinctly tropical
with brightly coloured fabrics, bamboo and touches of art native to the
Caribbean. We stayed in the master bedroom at the top of the villa
giving us the most fantastic of views. Although we very seldom found
time to use them, a television and internet access were available to us.
It was just as joyous staying in the house as it was going to the
beautiful outdoors.
Outdoors led to the green lushness of Bequia. The villas were
surrounded by fruit trees and palms and nestled among those was a pool
great for late afternoon lounging after a day on the beach. The deck was
equipped with comfortable outdoor lounging and dining furniture, a
gazebo as well as a barbeque. Many evenings were enjoyed there!
Topping all this off, we were treated to mouth-watering fresh food
prepared daily by 2 lovely and patient Bequian women, Joe and Carmina.
They also ensured that the villa was always kept spotless and
comfortable.
You may not get there by direct flight but it is well worth the trip!! "

"To be honest I was a little anxious about our trip to Bequia. It was me
and my two kids traveling to a place I had never heard about ,alone,
and a long way from home. Grenadine Villas staff told me we would be
fine and they were right. I always knew they were a phone call away,
day or night, if I needed anything.
When you read about how friendly the people are at these vacation
destinations, you always wonder if it is just publicity hype. NOT
Bequia. The people are really that friendly! You may run into a few
"not so friendly " but there is always someone to give you a helping
hand.
We loved Turtle Pt. Villa. The view and the sunsets were breathtaking.
The villa was well appointed with everything we needed and if I ran
across something we didn't have it was provided promptly. Josophine and
Carmilla were awesome. They were very sweet with my kids and answered
all questions I had.
We did not use the pool very much as we spent most of our time on the
beach or out in boats exploring. The kids said the pool water was too
warm. Can you believe that? Their skin must be thicker than that of
adults. I can't think of anything I disliked about the villa. It is
very bright, cheery, and roomy.
Location was great. Close to town and the beaches. The walk to the
house and to the beach could be a little difficult if carrying lots of
stuff but I looked at it as good exercise that I probably needed.
The Grenadine staff was wonderful. They handled every request I had and
answered all my questions(even if they were silly ones).
We plan on returning to Bequia soon and I will definitely use
Grenadine villas to book our next vacation. Thank you ladies- Not only
do you SAIL FAST...YOU ROCK!!!!! "

" I love being in Bequia. It is impossible to decide whether I prefer to stay in Flamingo or Turtle Point. They are both beautiful, nestled into the lush verdant hillside, beautifully designed, and decorated with artistry. I love to wake up there and to head out to the soothing calmness of the Princess Margaret beach where the water laps at you and the silvery fishes flirt and dart around you.
In the evening it is a dip in the pool warmed by the Caribbean sun and later a rum punch on my private balcony while I watch the sunset, a perfect foil for the sailboats lined up in the horizon.
For me it is about calm, peace and tranquility and loving caring staff prepared to pamper you and tempt you with fish callaloo and all kinds of culinary delights. Bequia is my escape to paradise. "

" My wife and I have been to paradise almost a dozen times now and each time it has been nothing short of magical.
Being in Bequia at Turtle Point and Flamingo Villas is the perfect barefoot getaway. These two villas are nestled on a hillside amongst tropical gardens and fruit trees overlooking the beach, giving a panoramic view of Princess Margaret Bay. The beach is a pristine crescent you have all to yourself and your friends. No Miami beach this. After The Beach we laze poolside watching the sunset while sipping my wife's legendary rumpunch.
The villas are very comfortably appointed for an extended stay with modern amenities including wireless internet access. The friendly and attentive staff, Josephine and Carmina, ensure that your holiday is memorable especially after you have indulged in their Creole cooking.
If you need supplies the quaint and picturesque little town is only walking distance away or you can take a two minute ride on African's water taxi. African is the Man, whether organising tours for us to neighbouring islands of Mustique ,Canaoun, Saltwhistle Bay and The Tobago Cays or freshly caught fish and lobster which he grilled to perfection.
We are totally addicted to this unhurried place still quiet, friendly and unspoilt. We always look forward to returning to our tropical hideaway ".

"
I spent a wonderful weekend in Bequia at the Turtle Point Villa in
April 2009. The Villa itself is a treat, beautifully decorated,
designed for comfort and affording splendid panoramic and calming views
of both land and sea. The villa is also ideally located for lolling
around on the beach, for bathing (lovely stretch of placid waters) and
for hiking gently rolling roads and for those who wish, more cheeky
climbs.
The staff of the villa are pleasant and efficient, ensuring that the stay is care-free.
It is an experience to be recommended!!! "
